64 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered as tribute, and decades before Coriolanus Snow became the tyrannical President of Panem, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes follows a young Coriolanus as he unites with Lucy Gray Baird in the 10th Hunger Games, and battles his instincts for both good and evil.

The movie, which is now available to purchase on digital before hitting Blu-ray later this month, features over two-and-a-half-hours of special features.

We recently caught up with star Sofia Sanchez to discuss her fantastic work as Wovey in the movie. An actress, model, and advocate who received global acclaim for her viral video "Down Syndrome Is Not Scary," Sofia takes us through just how incredible it was to play the fan-favourite District 8 tribute.

"Well, it was a dream come true to be in this movie," she tells us in the video below. "I was so excited to be in it and be cast as Wovey. It was so much fun. I had the best time."

As for what it was like to bring the book version of Wovey to life on screen (and to shoot a much different death scene from the one that's on the page), Sofia explained, "I liked reading the script because I can get into character. When I read the book, it was so different...I didn't drink the water, in this movie, I died by thousands of snakes! It was not all real, though. It was fake!"

The actress also had nothing but good things to say about the movie's lead. "I love Rachel [Zegler]. She's the best actor in the Hunger Games movies. She can sing and she's my favourite actor because she's so brave and gives the best hugs in the whole world...Lucy Grey is really powerful. She can sing. She has an incredible voice and sings like a songbird."
