Universal Pictures has announced that Jurassic World Dominion is getting an extended edition when it arrives on Digital, 4K Ultra HD, and Blu-ray. That cut of the movie will feature 14 minutes of never-before-seen footage, along with an alternate opening. 

While the movie arrived in theaters to middling reviews earlier this summer, it still managed to earn more than $900 million at the worldwide box office.

That's not quite on the same level as its predecessors, but the box office is still recovering following the pandemic, in fairness. The expectation now is that the Jurassic franchise will move on, though what that will look like remains to be seen (perhaps we'll finally get that crossover with Universal's Fast & Furious?).

These additional 14 minutes take Jurassic World Dominion's dino-sized runtime to a whopping 2 hours and 40 minutes, while there will be a tonne of additional content in terms of special features when the movie arrives on August 16.
