2020's Palm Springs was a huge hit for star Andy Samberg, and the former SNL cast member has now lined up another time-travel (well, time-displacement) romantic comedy.
In Amazon's 46.2 Years, Samberg will play "a man who is cryogenically frozen for decades in an effort to save his life, via an experimental procedure. When he wakes up 42.6 years later, physically unchanged thanks to being frozen, he finds himself alone in a future with no one to turn to but his ex-girlfriend (Legion's Jean Smart), who is now much older than him,"
Probably not the most original idea, but it sounds like a fun premise, and Samberg and Smart should make for a highly entertaining odd couple.
Craig Gillespie (Cruella; I, Tonya) is set to direct from a script by The Menu's Seth Reiss, which is based on a story from Reiss and Samberg
