Prey has been receiving widespread acclaim since it debuted on Hulu/Disney+ last week (the movie currently sits at a very impressive 93% on Rotten Tomatoes), and one cast member from the original Predator has now weighed in some high praise of his own.

Former WWE Superstar and Governor of Minnesota, Jesse "The Body" Ventura, took to Twitter to share his reaction to the hard-hitting prequel.

“Great, great film,” Ventura wrote while highlighting star Amber Midthunder's performance with one of his own character's iconic lines. “Welcome to the Predator family. [Director Dan Trachtenberg] thank you for making such a thoughtful, creative and wonderful film.”

Midthunder responded, saying "I just… I don’t how to… thank you," while Trachtenberg was equally stunned by Ventura's words. "Thank you sir! Thanks for watching and so glad you appreciated what we did," he Tweeted.

Ventura played Sergeant Blain Cooper in John McTiernan's film, and was the second member of Dutch's crew to fall victim to the ruthless alien hunter after Hawkins was ambushed and dragged away.

Ventura has been known to express right-wing viewpoints in the past, so it's refreshing to see him speak out in defence of Prey like this when so many others have blasted the movie for pitting a lone "skinny girl" against the formidable Predator.
