Amber Midthunder isn't ruling out a return as Naru in the Predator franchise. With Dan Trachtenberg eager to continue expanding the Yautja mythology, there's plenty of room for the Prey heroine to make her comeback.

Midthunder debuted as Naru in 2022's Prey, with the Comanche warrior proving herself by taking down a particularly vicious Yautja. While Prey 2 has yet to materialise (despite finding streaming success on Hulu), Trachtenberg found a surprise way to continue Naru's story in the animated Predator: Killer of Killers.

The streaming movie revealed that Naru had been captured and placed in suspended animation on Yautja Prime. However, the character's fate was then left hanging after Trachtenberg decided to tell another largely standalone story with Predator: Badlands.

In an interview with ScreenRant, Midthunder was asked about potentially reteaming with the filmmaker for another story revolving around Naru.

"I love both of these characters, and I would love to play them more, and none of it is up to me, unfortunately," she shared. "But obviously, both of these guys [Mike Flanagan and Dan Trachtenberg], I love them both so much. I love Dan as a filmmaker and a storyteller, and I love what he's doing with the Predator franchise."

"I loved Killer of Killers, I loved Badlands, so I think that whatever his plans are for the world as a whole, I'm excited to see," Midthunder added. "I know that there couldn't be more trustworthy hands."

Midthunder's comments don't confirm that Naru will return, but they've definitely left the door open. Most importantly, the actress clearly remains enthusiastic about continuing her story if Trachtenberg comes calling.

Trachtenberg previously revealed that his original plan for Predator: Badlands was for Amber Midthunder to reprise her Prey role as Naru. That means she would have fought alongside the Yautja Dek in place of Elle Fanning's Weyland-Yutani synthetic, Thia.

"I did think about the pairing of [Amber Midthunder's Naru and Dek] before it was Thia," he told the site. "But then I thought, 'Well, now then I'm not doing the premise.' And I really wanted to do the premise of the Predator as the protagonist, and no humans in the movie. And so it became further down the line we can do some cooler things, maybe [with Naru]."

Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dutch was shown alongside Naru in Killer of Killers, suggesting we could see an Avengers-style team-up down the line. After getting a glimpse of where Naru eventually ended up, it would be fascinating to see the franchise finally bring her face-to-face with the Yautja again, whether it's on Earth or in space.
