We got a first look at some footage from Project Hail Mary back in June, and Amazon MGM Studios has now released a full trailer for the highly-anticipated sci-fi drama, giving us a much better idea of what to expect.
Based on Andy Weir's New York Times best-selling novel, the movie stars Ryan Gosling (Barbie, Star Wars: Starfighter) as a science teacher named Ryland Grace who is enlisted to undertake a one-man mission to save the planet by reigniting the sun.
There's just one problem: Grace wakes up after travelling light years from home, having completely lost his memory.
Fortunately, Grace makes an ally in the form of a mysterious alien he nicknames Rocky, whose planet is also being impacted by the dying sun. Together, they attempt to solve the mystery of the "substance" that's causing the sun to expire before it's too late.
Science teacher Ryland Grace (Ryan Gosling) wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: solve the riddle of the mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must call on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction… but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone.
