The second part of Zack Snyder's Star Wars and Seven Samurai-inspired space epic, Rebel Moon, is now streaming on Netflix, and we watched it so you don't have to.

If you want to know how the divisive filmmaker concludes (though he has threatened sequels) the story, you'll find a breakdown of the action-packed final act below.

Major spoilers follow.

After taking a bit of time to flesh out the main characters and establish their backstories, The Scargiver launches into battle mode, and almost the entire last hour of the movie is dedicated to Kora and her allies attempting to prevent the forces of the Imperium from decimating the population of the planet.

The resurrected Admiral Atticus Noble (Ed Skrein) offers Kora (Sofia Boutella) - aka Arthelais, the adopted daughter of the tyrant Balisarius (Fra Fee) - the chance to save the people of Veldt by surrendering and returning to her father. Kora agrees, but Gunnar (Michiel Huisman) fires a shot to signal the attack, and the war begins.

The heroes ultimately manage to repel the ground assault with the help of powerful robot Jimmy (voice by Anthony Hopkins), but not without a few casualties. Cyborg sword (they are lightsabers... but fine) master Nemesis (Doona Bae) is killed while defending the children, and Gunnar succumbs to his wounds in Kora's arms after helping her to defeat Noble once and for all.

Yes, the evil Admiral really is dead this time - unless he somehow figures out how to reattach his head to his body!

As for the survivors, it seems their fight is far from over. After the battle, General Titus (Djimon Hounsou) tells Kora that Princess Issa (Stella Grace Fitzgerald) - the messianic child Kora thought she assassinated years before - is still alive, so we can probably expect Rebel Moon - Part 3: Rise of the Unkillable Princess at some point.

In addition to Skrein, Rebel Moon - Part 2 will see the return of Sofia Boutella as Kora, the titular Scargiver, Michiel Huisman, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Staz Nair, and Anthony Hopkins as the voice of evolving robot guardian Jimmy. The sequel will also feature Fra Fee, Cleopatra Coleman, Stuart Martin, Ingvar Sigurðsson, Alfonso Herrera, Cary Elwes, Rhian Rees, Elise Duffy, Sky Yang, and Charlotte Maggi.

"Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver continues the epic saga of Kora and the surviving warriors as they prepare to sacrifice everything, fighting alongside the brave people of Veldt, to defend a once peaceful village, a newfound homeland for those who have lost their own in the fight against the Motherworld. On the eve of their battle, the warriors must face the truths of their own pasts, each revealing why they fight. As the full force of the Realm bears down on the burgeoning rebellion, unbreakable bonds are forged, heroes emerge, and legends are made."
