Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon - Part 2: The Scargiver debuted on Netflix last week, and the movie was no better-received by critics than its predecessor. In fact, reviews were considerably worse.
The sci-fi sequel currently sits at an abysmal 15% on Rotten Tomatoes, with a better - but still rotten - audience score of 52%.
Despite these negative reactions, Snyder has a loyal, dedicated fan-base who clearly care very little about the opinions of critics, and The Scargiver has managed to climb the charts to become Netflix's No. 1 movie worldwide. Plus, A Child of Fire has made its way back into the top 10, and is now the third most popular movie on the streamer.
It's still very early days, so it'll be interesting to see how long The Scargiver can hold on to this position. Still, Netflix have to be pleased with the result, so don't be surprised if a third movie is announced down the line. After all, Snyder has already revealed that he has plans for a potential six films (God help us all).
"Four or six movies, depending... I guess it's whether or not every time we make one of these movies we make two, that's the question," Snyder told the Radio Times in a recent interview. "We were talking about it the other day and I was like, would an audience be disappointed if they only got one movie now from Rebel Moon? Would they be like, 'Oh, it's one now? Great.'"
