Netflix has unveiled a teaser promo for its entire 2023 film slate, which includes a first look at some footage from arguably the streamer's most highly-anticipated upcoming release, Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon.

The promo image gives us a first glimpse of Sofia Boutella lead character. The Star Trek Beyond actress will play "a young woman with a mysterious past who seeks out warriors from neighbouring planets to help a peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy take a stand against the tyrannical Regent Balisarius."

We also have an exciting preview of some footage, which sees Djimon Hounsou's character rallying the troops for battle, Charlie Hunnam drawing his weapon, and more.

"Zack came in with so much passion," said Ori Marmur, who runs Netflix’s original studio film group. "This is a film that he’s had in mind for decades. As you know, he’s spent so much time working on other people’s IP at other studios. We worked with him on “Army of the Dead” and we did things that others couldn’t do. We made a film and then a prequel and launched a live experience. With “Rebel Moon” he wanted to push the envelope again. When we saw how big the world he created was we thought it would be better served as two pieces versus one film. It’s the kind of story that can continue to grow. He thinks of it as his take on making something like Star Wars.

Rebel Moon also stars Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huisman, Alfonso Herrera, Ray Fisher, Stuart Martin, Jena Malone, Staz Nair, E. Duffy, Charlotte Maggi, Sky Yang, and Anthony Hopkins.

The movie is set to premiere on Netflix on December 22.
