Originally pitched to Lucasfilm as a Star Wars movie, Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon is now an original sci-fi space opera heading to Netflix in two parts.
The filmmaker has embarked on a successful collaboration with the streamer which began with Army of the Dead, and while his DC days are behind him, the Justice League director has big plans to spend the next few years expanding the world of Rebel Moon. Now, a trailer teaser offers a glimpse of what's to come!
A full-length trailer is going to be released tomorrow, but this sneak peek puts star Sofia Boutella front and centre while teasing the epic scale of the world Snyder has created. Visually, it's very much in line with what you'd expect and something tells us his fans will love this.
It's hard not to be excited, anyway, especially with a cast comprised of names like Charlie Hunnam, Michiel Huisman, Djimon Hounsou, Doona Bae, Ray Fisher, Cleopatra Coleman, Jena Malone, Ed Skrein, Fra Fee, and the legendary Anthony Hopkins.
Check out this Rebel Moon teaser below.
From Zack Snyder, the filmmaker behind 300, Man of Steel, and Army of the Dead, comes Rebel Moon, an epic science-fantasy event decades in the making.
When a peaceful colony on the edge of a galaxy finds itself threatened by the armies of a tyrannical ruling force, Kora (Sofia Boutella), a mysterious stranger living among the villagers, becomes their best hope for survival.
Tasked with finding trained fighters who will unite with her in making an impossible stand against the Mother World, Kora assembles a small band of warriors — outsiders, insurgents, peasants and orphans of war from different worlds who share a common need for redemption and revenge. As the shadow of an entire Realm bears down on the unlikeliest of moons, a battle over the fate of a galaxy is waged, and in the process, a new army of heroes is formed.
Rebel Moon is set to be released on Netflix on December 22, 2023.
