Hollywood is on strike, with members of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA picketing major studios to get what they deserve. The film and television industry could be shut down until the Fall or beyond, and while that's going to result in release date delays, it's also had a huge impact on this month's San Diego Comic-Con.

Variety reveals Legendary Entertainment had been planning a Hall H panel which would have featured first looks at highly anticipated movies Dune: Part Two and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire.

Based on past experience, those previews (or at least shortened versions) were likely going to be shared online moments later. Now, though, there's a good chance the studio will wait for a more opportune moment to showcase both upcoming blockbusters.

Among the titles still expected to be showcased in San Diego are Star Trek, Harley Quinn, Masters of the Universe: Revolution, The Walking Dead, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. However, no cast members will be in attendance.

Actors aren't allowed to promote upcoming titles due to the strike and, even before it was made official, Marvel Studios and DC Studios confirmed they won't be heading to the annual event.

"Dune: Part Two: will explore the mythic journey of Paul Atreides as he unites with Chani and the Fremen while on a warpath of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family," reads the synopsis. "Facing a choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, he endeavors to prevent a terrible future only he can foresee."

As for the Godzilla vs. Kong sequel, the synopsis promises "an all-new cinematic adventure, pitting the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence – and our own."

"The epic new film will delve further into the histories of these Titans, their origins, and the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond," it continues, "while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever."

Dune: Part Two will be in theaters on November 3, while Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire is scheduled for a March 24, 2024 big screen debut.

Darn it! Was really looking forward to the marketing push for Dune. I am so excited for this film and I can't get enough news about it.
