With a new trailer set to drop tomorrow, Paramount Pictures has just released a new round of character posters for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts. This time, the spotlight is shifted to the Maximals, while each Tweet reveals who will play the animalistic descendants of the Autobots.
We've known that Ron Perlman will lend his voice to Optimus Prime for a while, of course, but can now confirm that he's going to be joined by Tongayi Chirisa (iZombie) as Cheetor, Michelle Yeoh (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) as Airazor, and David Sobolov (The Flash) as Rhinox.
There's a lot of excitement among fans of the franchise to see the Maximals on screen, and we're curious to see how they'll compare to the Dinobots seen in Transformers: Age of Extinction. There could be spin-off potential there, though that's going to hinge on how well this latest instalment of the franchise performs over the summer.
You'll want to check back here tomorrow for that trailer for the second it drops. In the meantime, you can see the new posters below.
"Returning to the action and spectacle that have captured moviegoers around the world, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts will take audiences on a '90s globetrotting adventure with the Autobots and introduce a whole new breed of Transformer – the Maximals – to the existing battle on earth between Autobots and Decepticons," reads the movie's brief synopsis.
As for the cast, that's led by Hamilton star Anthony Ramos, with Dominique Fishback, Luna Lauren Vélez, and Tobe Nwigwe joining him. Peter Cullen will once again lend his voice to Optimus Prime, while Ron Perlman has stepped in to play Optimus Primal, the leader of the Maximals.
Peter Dinklage, Liza Koshy, John DiMaggio, Michaela Jaé Rodriguez, Pete Davidson, and Cristo Fernández also star.
Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is set to be released in theatres on June 9, 2023.
