AHSOKA Concept Art Reveals Closer Look At The Mortis Gods And STAR WARS REBELS-Inspired Imagery

Ahsoka hasn't struck a chord with every Star Wars fan, but for viewers of the Rebels animated series...well, it was just about all they could have asked for from a long-awaited season 5!

Today, we have some new concept art from the Disney+ TV series. These gorgeous pieces showcase a number of familiar sights from Rebels - including the Purrgil, the Ghost, and Lothal - as Lucasfilm's artists underwent the process of translating them from animation to live-action for their respective debuts in Ahsoka

However, perhaps even more interesting is a piece which offers our best look yet at the Mortis Gods statues on Peridea. A trio introduced by George Lucas and Dave Filoni in The Clone Wars, these ancient beings (who were the living embodiment of the Force) are expected to be key to Ahsoka Tano's story moving forward.

It's clear to see how much their surprise cameo was inspired by their respective appearances in animation and, as the statues are more detailed and less weathered, we'd bet on them looking like this if and when they appear down the line.

Earlier this year, Ahsoka star Rosario Dawson opened up on the journey she took the title character on throughout the course of the series.

"In the animation, you saw her go to the white, but what I loved is the idea that there was even another level to her," she explained. "Dave and I talked a lot about Gandalf the Gray and Gandalf the White - talking about that transition and how she's someone very capable and excellent and looked up to as a leader, but she still has levels of development to go."

Ahsoka seemingly retconned that Rebels scene by not having the character become "Ahsoka the White" until she and Huyang travelled to Peridea. Still, we'd bet on Filoni having a way to explain the change and what the deal was with the staff she was shown wielding.

Check out this new concept art below.

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.

All episodes of Ahsoka are now streaming on Disney+.
