AHSOKA "Honest Trailer" Takes A Lightsaber To Latest Disney+ STAR WARS Series

Screen Junkies has released an "Honest Trailer" for Ahsoka, and it doesn't hold back from delivering several well-placed lightsaber strikes to Disney+'s latest live-action Star Wars show...

"What really makes Ahsoka feel like that George Lucas original recipe, is some of the worst dialogue since 'I don't like sand.'"

Ahsoka recently wrapped up its first season, and while the show was mostly well-received by fans and critics (it holds an impressive 86% on Rotten Tomatoes), not everyone was won over by Dave Filoni's live-action Star Wars Rebels revival.

The series came in for criticism for several reasons, with many viewers comparing it unfavourably to the previous Star Wars show, Andor, which took a far more grounded approach to the galaxy far, far away and really felt like a fresh take on the long-running franchise. Ahsoka also faced some backlash for its less-than compelling character exchanges (see above), by-the-numbers plotting, and stilted performances.

You may not agree that these were major issues, of course, but the Screen Junkies guys clearly do, and this latest Honest Trailer does not hold back in its take-down of Ahsoka!

It's not one of the gang's funnier efforts, but they do raise a few valid points, and even if you enjoyed the series, you might just find yourself nodding in agreement at some of their criticisms.

Ahsoka has yet to be officially renewed for a second season, but given how the recent finale wrapped up, we'd say it's only a matter of time before Lucasfilm makes an announcement. Even if it doesn't return, Dave Filoni's Star Wars movie is expected to serve as a culmination of the events of these Disney+ show.

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

The series stars Rosario Dawson in the title role, with Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, with Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Kevin Kiner was announced as the series' composer.

Ahoska is written by executive producer Dave Filoni, alongside executive producers Favreau, Kennedy, Wilson, and Beck. Gilchrist is co-executive producer. The series’ directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel and Rick Famuyiwa.
