Rogue One: A Star Wars Story prequel Andor has been impressing fans on Disney+, and with Tales of the Jedi also set to premiere this week, it's an exciting time to be following this franchise.

Looking to the future, 2023 is shaping up to be even better, especially with The Mandalorian season 3 and Ahsoka on the horizon. The latter looks set to introduce live-action versions of many characters from the Star Wars Rebels animated TV series, including Ezra Bridger.

The powerful Jedi will be played by Eman Esfandi, and there's a lot of excitement surrounding the story of where he's been...and where the hero is going.

Now, all signs point to him being a key part of Lucasfilm's small screen plans as a new rumour claims Esfandi has signed up to star in his own live-action TV series. It's said that this will very much be Ezra's story, and not necessarily Star Wars Rebels 2.0. That's an intriguing prospect and one that likely means the character is here to stay beyond Ahsoka

Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Ivanna Sakhno are among that show's confirmed casting additions, while Hayden Christensen is expected to return as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader after recently appearing in Obi-Wan Kenobi.

We don't know what form that will take, though the hope is he'll be a Force Ghost. There have, however, been rumblings in the past that he'll be back as the Sith Lord.

It was in The Mandalorian that we first learned Ahsoka Tano is hunting Grand Admiral Thrawn, with it then becoming apparent that she hasn't given up on Ezra after he "sacrificed" himself to save his friends from the villainous Imperial. Lars Mikkelsen is expected to reprise the role in Ahsoka, though there's still no word on that front.

As of now, Ahsoka is set to premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2023.
