Yesterday evening's episode of Ahsoka has been hailed as a masterpiece by many Star Wars fans, no real shock considering the sheer number of epic moments and surprises it featured.
To celebrate the release of the show reaching the midseason point, Disney+ has shared an exciting new TV spot featuring Anakin Skywalker, who appeared in "Shadow Warrior," returning as Ahsoka's former Jedi Master. Anakin’s appearance in the episode marks the first time the characters have appeared onscreen together in live action, having formed a close relationship in the animated series, The Clone Wars.
Last night, "Midseason Fan Screening Events" presenting the current episode were held in select AMC theaters in cities across the country, including Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Chicago, Dallas, New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Washington, D.C. and Orlando.
Many fans have questioned why Ezra Bridger and Grand Amiral Thrawn still haven't shown up in Ahsoka, though episode 4 director Peter Ramsey shared some insights into showrunner Dave Filoni's approach to storytelling during a recent interview with IGN.
"From the start, he really made it kind of clear he was after a little more 0 he was really interested in focusing on the characters," the filmmaker says. "He wanted the pace to be a little different. People say 'it's slower, it's slower.' Well, part of that is the desire for a little more mood, slightly different nuance to it versus Mando, which is kind of like spaghetti western, kind of like ‘wham, bam, thank you ma'am.’ Dave wanted a slightly different feeling."
