AHSOKA Poster Features Return Of Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker - What Is "The World Between Worlds"?

A new poster for Ahsoka features our first look at Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker (assuming you haven't watched the latest episode) but what is The World Between Worlds and is [SPOILER] really dead?

Lucasfilm has released a new Ahsoka poster and, along with some familiar faces and moments from the first four episodes, we also see Hayden Christensen's Anakin Skywalker put front and centre. Can we trust the Jedi who ultimately became Darth Vader, though?

The latest episode of Ahsoka ended with the shocking death of Ahsoka Tano and the return of Anakin. During a hard-hitting lightsaber duel with Baylan Skoll, the former Jedi was seemingly cut down and sent plummeting into the raging waters below.

Waking up in the World Between Worlds, Ahsoka heard a familiar voice and turned to see her Master, Anakin, staring back at her. However, somewhat spoiling this happy reunion was the fact that "Fallen Jedi" ended with Darth Vader's theme, adding a rather ominous note to his apparent return as a Force Ghost.

What is the World Between Worlds? It's essentially another plane of existence which transcends time and space and can be accessed only through the Force.

It's feasible that both Anakin and Ahsoka have accessed it in death, with their respective spirits reunited within the living Force. Time travel is also part of this mysterious dimension, and we're expecting Ahsoka to revisit key moments in her past (potentially seeing how differently they could have played out).

Describing the World Between Worlds, Ahsoka showrunner Dave Filoni previously said, "You can gain knowledge of the future or futures that may happen, and you can see things that happened in the past. You can at times choose to alter them, but it's perilous to do so and when you alter something you don't know if that's not the way it always happened."

It's a tad confusing but we're guessing Anakin will look to help Ahsoka move on from what's previously happened to her so she can be at full power to rise from the dead and stop Grand Admiral Thrawn. Then again, we don't know exactly how redeemed Anakin was in Return of the Jedi, so perhaps Vader is there to tempt her into heading down a darker path.

Check out this newly released Ahsoka poster below.

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.

The first four episodes of Ahsoka are now streaming on Disney+.
