We're just hours away from the latest episode of Ahsoka hitting Disney+, and a new clip has just been released which takes us back to Peridea for an action-packed Western-inspired sequence.
It's quickly revealed that Ezra Bridger's adorable friends aren't much use in a fight, but with the planet's marauders closing in, he and Sabine Wren find themselves in serious trouble. We're guessing this lot has been sent after them by Baylan Skoll seeing as "Far, Far Away" ended with him suggesting an alliance with Peridea's inhabitants.
Why isn't the Jedi using the Force here? That obviously remains to be seen, but it's previously been reported that he's found a new way to utilise those abilities after spending years in exile (think of it as a Force-powered martial arts).
Ezra and Sabine's reunion last week was brief, but fans hoping for romance to blossom between the two may be disappointed.
"It’s been a varied thing and I think everybody’s knee-jerk reaction is to ship the two," Ahsoka showrunner Dave Filoni previously revealed. "You know, to think that, because the two are similar in age, that there’s some type of gravity between them romantically."
"And I think it’s very strong at this point to show boys and girls being friends in supportive of one another. Everybody has their different relationships and it’s just not something that had to be romantically dimensional."
Check out this new look at Ahsoka's penultimate episode in the players below.
Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.
Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.
The first six episodes of Ahsoka are now streaming on Disney+.
