Ahsoka proved to be a fun ride for Star Wars fans, though it was a series no doubt enjoyed most by those who previously tuned into Rebels.
Regardless, after eight episodes, Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger had finally made their way back to the main Galaxy and Ahsoka Tano was able to put her past behind her after being reunited with Anakin Skywalker in the World Between Worlds.
As for Sabine Wren, she's a Jedi now, though both she and Ahsoka are currently trapped on Peridea. Baylan Skoll and Shin Hati's story ended on a similarly open-ended note, and we still don't know what exactly Thrawn and The Great Mothers are up to.
Needless to say, we need a second season!
Luckily, some online "scoopers" are today claiming that Ahsoka season 2 has been greenlit at Lucasfilm and is on the way. While nothing has been confirmed at this stage, we're guessing the end of the WGA strike means Dave Filoni has been able to resume work on the series before his planned Star Wars movie follows.
Of note is the fact Ahsoka will reportedly move to the UK's Pinewood Studios, the home of the Star Wars sequel trilogy. It was originally shot in Los Angeles (where The Mandalorian is based) and we'd say this is a strong indication that a) the show is getting bigger and, b) there will be some overlap with Filoni's big screen plans.
Stay tuned for updates as we have them.
Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.
In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.
Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.
All episodes of Ahsoka are now streaming on Disney+.
