AHSOKA Spoilers: Episode 5 Ends With A Big Cliffhanger And A New Look For Ahsoka Tano But Does Thrawn Return?

After what proves to be a very intense reunion with Anakin Skywalker in today's episode of Ahsoka (you can read more about that by clicking here), Ahsoka Tano returns to the land of the living.

While she's in the World Between Worlds, Hera Syndulla and Captain Teva attempt to find the former Jedi in the water surrounding Seatos. They're pointed in the right direction by the now-confirmed Force-sensitive son of Jera and Kanan Jarrus, Jacen.

Pulled out of the water, Ahsoka dons a new costume that seems to suggest her Gandalf the Grey days are behind her; yes, the former Jedi has entered her Gandalf the White stage, potentially explaining her appearance in Star Wars Rebels' closing moments.

With the map to that other Galaxy damaged beyond repair, Ahsoka manages to communicate with the Purgill and is transported to parts unknown by the ancient hyperspace-travelling creatures.

Hera, meanwhile, is left behind to deal with the fallout from her decision to go rogue and a tense conversation with Mon Mothma suggests the New Republic is about to lose one of its finest Generals. By not accompanying Ahsoka and Huyang into that neighbouring Galaxy, it also looks like we'll have to wait for a full-blown Rebels reunion.

Unfortunately, there's no sign of Grand Admiral Thrawn or Ezra Bridger in this episode, meaning there are only three episodes left for them to receive the spotlight. We're hoping Ahsoka is setting the stage for both characters to play a bigger role in future stories because, if not, the limited size of their respective roles in this 8-episode series is bound to leave some fans feeling underwhelmed.

In fact, we don't even get to see what became of Morgan Elsbeth, Baylan Skoll, Shin Hati, and Sabine Wren after they took that jump into the unknown, so we can only hope that next week's sixth episode touches on that and the fates of Ezra and Thrawn.

How do you feel about the way things played out in "Shadow Warrior"?

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

In addition to Rosario Dawson in the title role, the series stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, the late Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, and Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Ahsoka was written by Dave Filoni, who executive produces alongside Jon Favreau, Kathleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, and Carrie Beck. Directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel, and Rick Famuyiwa.

The first five episodes of Ahsoka are now streaming on Disney+.
