We all expected Obi-Wan Kenobi to feature a live-action flashback to The Clone Wars and, while we did return to the Attack of the Clones era, it was only for a training session at the Jedi Temple.
Somewhat appropriately, it was Dave Filoni who had the privilege of adapting the beloved animated series in an episode of Ahsoka which took us to the World Between Worlds. There, Hayden Christensen donned Anakin Skywalker's Clone Wars armour and Ariana Greenblatt played the young Ahsoka Tano.
The scenes were phenomenal and the Avengers: Infinity War and Barbie star did a terrific job playing the character. Now, the actress has shared some fascinating new insights into how she approached sharing the role with Rosario Dawson.
"I watched a ton of Clone Wars episodes," Greenblatt explains in the video below. "I mean, when I was getting ready for rehearsal and all of that, it was just always on in the background."
"The little plot twist in this episode is yes, although I am playing 13/17-year-old Ahsoka, Ahsoka is still Rosario's Ahsoka mentally. So I had to combine the characteristics and combine how Rosario talks," she continues, addressing the unique challenge playing this version of Ahsoka presented. "I visited Rosario on set and I kind of just got to watch her work and observe how she would walk and talk, and everything Ahsoka."
"I just, like, soaked up all of her body language because I really, really, really wanted to do it right."
We'd love to see more of Greenblatt in the role and she's previously expressed an interest in reuniting with Christensen for a spin-off set during the events of The Clone Wars. It would be a fun limited series, though as the actress is already 16, the clock is ticking when it comes to her being able to play the young Jedi Padawan.
