The first season of Ahsoka concluded with several major plotlines left wide open, leading viewers to assume that the story would almost certainly continue in a follow-up season.

While Dave Filoni's big-screen Star Wars project is expected to serve as a culmination of the various Disney+ shows, we still haven't had official word on a potential season 2 of Ahsoka, and star Rosario Dawson has now shared a somewhat disappointing update.

While speaking with the Dagobah Dispatch podcast, Dawson was asked if she has had any conversations about the future of Ahsoka, and responded that she hasn't heard a thing - but, the actress did indicate that she would be discussing the series with her cast-mates at their next meet-up.

"No. We're supposed to be having a dinner soon, of the whole cast, which will be really nice because I haven't seen everyone. I was very jealous seeing everyone at some of their cons recently, which I wasn't able to be at."

We recently learned that Filoni is now Chief Creative Officer of Lucasfilm, meaning he will have a lot more say in the development of new big and small screen projects as he works more directly with Kathleen Kennedy to oversee the next generation of Star Wars shows and movies. With this in mind, we'd say the chances of a second season of Ahsoka are looking pretty good.

“In the past, in a lot of projects I would be brought into it, I would see it after it had already developed a good ways,” Filon said of his new role at the time. "It’s opened up to basically everything that’s going on. When we’re planning the future of what we’re doing now, I’m involved at the inception phase.” “I’m not telling people what to do,” Filoni continued. “But I do feel I’m trying to help them tell the best story that they want to tell. I need to be a help across the galaxy here, like a part of a Jedi Council almost.”

Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy.

The series stars Rosario Dawson in the title role, with Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera Syndulla, Diana Lee Inosanto as Morgan Elsbeth, Ivanna Sakhno as Shin Hati, Ray Stevenson as Baylan Skoll, David Tennant as Huyang, Lars Mikkelsen as Grand Admiral Thrawn, with Eman Esfandi appearing as Ezra Bridger.

Kevin Kiner was announced as the series' composer.

Ahoska is written by executive producer Dave Filoni, alongside executive producers Favreau, Kennedy, Wilson, and Beck. Gilchrist is co-executive producer. The series’ directors include Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Vasant Patel and Rick Famuyiwa.
