Making Star Wars has revealed that House of the Dragon director Geeta Vasant Patel was tapped to helm at least one episode of Ahsoka.
You may recall that she previously directed that HBO show's eighth episode, an instalment which saw a six-year time jump take place after Lady Laena's funeral. Patel did a superb job of making that transition feel natural and it sounds like she may have been tasked with a similar job on the Star Wars TV series.
According to the site, Ahsoka will feature a mid-season time-jump, with Star Wars Rebels' epilogue scene not actually taking place until halfway through the seasons.
They go on to explain that the show is likely to feature two four-part stories, with the fourth episode ending with that scene. That saw Ahsoka Tano decked out in a white cloak looking at Sabine Wren's mural before the Mandalorian decided to join her on a mission to find the missing Ezra Bridge.
We don't currently know whether this means the events of Star Wars Rebels will be retold in live-action - we expect to see at least some of them - but the prevailing theory for a while has been that the white cloak scene took place after Ahsoka's appearances in The Mandalorian.
There, she was shown searching for Grand Admiral Thrawn, no doubt as part of her journey to track Ezra down.
Ahsoka promises to be a very important addition to Star Wars canon, with some huge gaps in this Galaxy's history filled in. The stage is also likely to be set to explore a new side of the Force, though it remains to be seen what sort of impact, if any, that will have on what we saw in the sequel trilogy.
Ahsoka has a panel at Star Wars Celebration early next month, so a trailer and new story details will almost certainly be shared with fans during the event.
Stay tuned for updates.
