ANDOR Recap: A Painfully Boring Episode Set The Stage For Exciting Developments In The Weeks Ahead - SPOILERS

The fifth episode of Andor arrived on Disney+ today, and while it was slow going for Cassian Andor's story, the stage has been set for an exciting heist...hopefully, as soon as next week. Check it out!

Andor has been a slow burn from the start, but as we near the halfway point, it's becoming increasingly clear that Lucasfilm made the right decision when they decided that season 2 would devote three episodes to each year in Cassian Andor's life instead of twelve.

Much of "The Axe Forgets" is spent on Aldhani as the title character continues to familiarise himself with those Rebels. He's there after being promised money by Luthen Rael, of course, and after a lot of preparation, Cassian reveals that he's a mercenary after a confrontation with Skeen sees the Kyber crystal he's looking after revealed to the rest of that team.

They need Cassian more than they realise, though, and everyone agrees that it's best to put their differences to one side if they hope to succeed in the theft of those Imperial funds.

They have a man on the inside which helps, but something tells us this heist will get messy fast.

Elsewhere in "The Axe Forgets," Meero is still looking to uncover what looks to be the beginnings of the Rebellion, while Karn is having to rely on his mother's help when it comes to finding a new job. While these scenes confirm that cereal exists in the Star Wars Universe, the biggest takeaway is that he's still very much obsessed with Cassian and no doubt looking for revenge.

We then catch up with Mon Mothma and learn more about her uncomfortable dynamic with her very right-wing family. Finally, we return to Luthen as he nervously paces through his den of antiquities waiting for news on the heist. When his assistant points out that it will all be done by the next day, the Rebel responds, "Or it’ll just be starting..."

In terms of talking points, there aren't many. The latest episode of Andor is painfully slow in places, and light on Easter Eggs. It still doesn't feel very Star Wars-y, though some fans love that. Others, however, are counting down the days until Din Djarin and Grogu return in The Mandalorian

What did you think about "The Axe Forgets"?
