Cameras are now rolling on Andor season 2 in the UK, and a first look at Diego Luna as Cassian Andor has been revealed in newly surfaced set photos and videos.
The actor is joined by Stellan Skarsgard’s Luthen Rael and, aside from the fact they're in the midst of what looks to be a serious conversation, we don't learn much! However, their newfound partnership will clearly continue following the events of the first season's finale.
While that took place over quite a small period of time, the next 12 episodes will cover the next four years of Cassian's life as a Rebel. With that in mind, we have no idea when this meeting is actually taking place!
It's thought Lucasfilm originally planned to tell this story over five 12-episode seasons, with each of them covering a year in Cassian's life. Luckily, they thought better of it, but by that point, plans were already in place for the first 12 to cover one year; in season 2, we're getting three episodes per year.
Andor has been widely praised as the best Star Wars TV series on Disney+, and it definitely left a lasting impact. Despite reports the show struggled to find an audience, we're sure it will have legs over time, and the story will get a proper conclusion - leading us straight into Rogue One - now season 2 is moving ahead as planned.
Andor presents Star Wars from a different perspective, focusing on everyday people whose lives are affected by the Empire. The decisions they make have real consequences, and the stakes for them - and the Galaxy - couldn’t be higher.
Diego Luna returns as Cassian Andor and is joined by cast members Genevieve O’Reilly, Stellan Skarsgård, Adria Arjona, Denise Gough, Kyle Soller and Fiona Shaw. The executive producers are Kathleen Kennedy, Tony Gilroy, Sanne Wohlenberg, Diego Luna and Michelle Rejwan. Tony Gilroy is also the creator and showrunner.
