The season finale of Andor is now streaming on Disney+, and it answers a huge question...in a surprise post-credits scene! As we're sure you remember, when Cassian was in that Imperial prison on Narkina 5, he and his fellow inmates were building mystery machine parts for the Empire.

Since then, there's been a lot of speculation about what those might be, with theories ranging from TIE Fighter pieces to components Emperor Palpatine might one day need to clone himself.

The scene opens with a spider-like droid working on a giant machine of some sort, fitting the parts Cassian and company were making to what we soon learn is a small piece of a much larger area. As the camera zooms out, we see that it looks like a satellite dish, and as that continues, we eventually see that it's the Death Star's laser canon, still under construction.

Yes, Cassian unknowingly helped create the very thing he will one day give his life to destroy, an irony that simply serves to make his journey all the more impactful.

Whether Cassian will ever learn the truth behind Narkina 5 remains to be seen, though we aren't banking on it. This was a clever way for Andor to make the Rebel's eventual death even more meaningful than it already was, and a stinger that's definitely worth sticking around for.

The finale itself did a great job of setting the stage for season 2, and you can read more about that by clicking here

Andor has definitely been a memorable ride for Star Wars fans, and with these 12 episodes telling Cassian's story over a relatively small period of time, it will be interesting to see how the next twelve episodes tell his story over the four years prior to Rogue One (with three episodes devoted to each of those).

What did you think about the Andor finale?
