The daughter of prolific director Ron Howard, and a respected film maker herself, Bryce Dallas Howard's recent work in the Star Wars universe is largely praised and her episodes seen as highlights in their respective seasons. Now she's dishing on what fans can expect from the upcoming Disney+ series starring fan favorite and Anakin Skywalker's only Padawan, Ahsoka Tano.
"So, Dave Filoni, he knows Star Wars better than anyone other than George [Lucas], and he was taught by George when he was doing all of the Clone Wars because they did that together. And we worked together on Mandalorian," Howard recently said in an interview with Romper, "Without giving anything away, you are going to love the Ahsoka show that's coming up. I cannot tell you anything, but what I can say is that you being a fan of the Clone Wars will be greatly rewarded."
This is in no way a confirmation that Ms. Howard is working on the series, but her contact and conversations with series producer and Ahsoka creator Dave Filoni will no doubt fuel speculation that she's boarded the series. No directors have yet been announced for the show, but Howard would be a welcome addition.
There is currently no release date set for the Ahsoka series, though with Star Wars Celebration just around the corner, we could be getting some more concrete information very soon.
Ahsoka will be landing on Disney+ sometime in the near future starring Rosario Dawson as the titular former jedi. Joining her will be Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Rebels character Sabine Wren, as well as Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ray Stevenson, and Ivanna Sakhno in undisclosed roles. Longtime Star Wars alum Hayden Christensen is also rumored to be returning to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader (soon also to be seen in the upcoming Obi Wan Kenobi series)
