Ahsoka's eighth episode arrives on Disney+ tomorrow evening, but is it going to be a season or series finale? When it comes to the Star Wars franchise, we know Disney CEO Bob Iger is keen to shift focus back to movies and Dave Filoni has been tapped to helm what many believe is an adaptation of "Heir to the Empire."

However, with Grand Admiral Thrawn and Ezra Bridger not showing up until the show's sixth episode, it feels like we've barely scratched the surface when it comes to both of those characters.

Yes, Ahsoka is an effective introduction to them for those who didn't watch Star Wars Rebels and a welcomed reintroduction for those who did; still, launching straight into a movie after this series could be a big ask. It's a good job then that all signs point to the show getting a second season.

Looking back over past reports and relying on some of what we've heard, we can quite confidently say that a second batch of Ahsoka episodes will follow before Filoni's Star Wars movie arrives in theaters (hence why the Daisy Ridley-led project is expected to come first).

Work on all these future projects had been halted due to the WGA strike but now that's over, we're hoping to learn more about them in the weeks and months ahead.

As you may recall, there were lots of leaks about Ahsoka prior to its premiere, including the apparent ending of the series.

According to Making Star Wars"Thrawn does return [to the core of the known galaxy] at what I believe is the climax of the 8th and final episode of the season. Sources describe him exiting his ship’s gantry (I think), with his forces before him. He takes in the moment and looks at his allies, [revelling] in this moment and promises a reckoning is coming."

This suggests Thrawn will win the day with his army - and hopefully whatever those mysterious beings in coffins taken from Peridea are - ready for war. However, this also sounds an awful lot like how episode 6 concludes, so we're not necessarily expecting it to be how Ahsoka reaches its conclusion.

It's also worth noting that there have been no leaks regarding whatever Baylan Skoll is searching for or what becomes of the show's heroes (there are some hard-to-believe claims floating around about Ezra's final fate, but we'd advise taking those with a pinch of salt). With that in mind, expect some big surprises tomorrow including - here's one final spoiler warning for you - an appearance from Anakin Skywalker's Force Ghost.

The final episode of Ahsoka premieres on Disney+ tomorrow night.
