It's easy to forget, but Daniel Craig actually made a cameo "appearance" in 2015's Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The actor donned a Stormtrooper costume to play FN-1824, the easily influenced First Order soldier who was tasked with guarding Daisy Ridley's Rey.
It was a fun scene, and one the actor looks back at fondly. In the video below, Craig admits that he had no idea what his Stormtropper's designation was, joking: "Yes, that role was very dear to me. Is that was the character was called? I tried to get into the next two but no luck."
However, he'd then go on to admit, "I love Star Wars, I wouldn’t have asked to be in it otherwise. Ben Dixon, who’s an assistant director on those movies and he was an AD on our movie as well, and I was doing fittings. I asked him 'Could I get a part in this?' And he just said let me go and ask. The next day, I was in a f***ing Stormtrooper suit!"
"I had to wear the thing all day and I couldn’t feel my hands by the end of the day," Craig continued. "I thought, 'God, these poor people have to wear them in the desert.' I wouldn’t have done it if I had to go to Tunisia."
Venom star Tom Hardy later followed in the former 007's footsteps by making a cameo appearance in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. However, his scene ended up on the cutting room floor.
As for Craig, now he's done playing James Bond, we'd love to see him return to this Galaxy Far, Far Away in a much bigger role. Whether that will happen is hard to say, especially as many of his fans are convinced a role in the MCU is actually up next for him!
