The Lando series we've been hearing about for so long is finally moving forward at Disney+, but the project has gone back to the drawing board with a new writing team.

Donald Glover, who will reprise his Solo: A Star Wars Story role as a younger take on roguish space-swindler Lando Calrissian, is set to pen the series with his brother Stephen. Dear White People creator Justin Simien was previously attached, but appears to have stepped away from the show, as Variety has confirmed that the Glover bros. will work on the scripts alone.

“I would love to play Lando again," Glover said in a recent interview. "It’s a fun time, being him. It just has to be the right way to do it. Time is precious. The past couple of years, this pandemic shit, it really had people experience time… People realize their time is valuable. You only get so much. I’m not interested in doing anything that’s going to be a waste of my time or just a paycheck. I’d much rather spend time with people that I enjoy. It just has to be the right thing, and I think it could be. Lando is definitely somebody I like to hang out with.”

It's not clear if Alden Ehrenreich will show up as Han Solo, but one would assume Lucasfilm will have reached out to the actor, who most recently appeared in Oppenheimer, so see if he was interested in a cameo.

I would like to see a Lando series, even if it was 6 short episodes, but longer would be better. I think 40-50 is a good episode length. It’s too bad about this writers strike, it might not get made.

The last 10 minutes I’d like to see a younger Lobot show up as Lando wins Cloud City in a game. A nice little cameo of a younger Kuiil from the Mandalorian introduces himself to Lando Calrissian and tells him that he just completed work on the carbon freeze chamber.
