Legendary actor Christopher Lloyd has joined the cast of The Mandalorian season 3, THR reports.

The 83-year-old Back To The Future star has enjoyed a career resurgence of late, with roles in Bob Odenkirk action comedy Nobody and George Clooney's The Tender Bar. Details on his part in the Disney+ Star Wars show are being kept under wraps, but it is described as "guest star in nature."

No official plot details for the third season of The Mandalorian have been revealed (there are some leaks doing the rounds, however), but The Book of Boba Fett did give us some idea of what to expect. Two episodes focused on Din Djarin, who helped Fett fend off the Pyke Syndicate before being reunited with Grogu. We assume the story will pick up shortly after the leave Tatooine in Mando's nifty new Naboo Starfighter, but a significant time-jump is also a possibility.

Pedro Pascal will, of course, return as the titular bounty hunter, along with Carl Weathers as Greef Carga and Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon. No other regular cast members have been confirmed, but we'd expect to see Emily Swallow's Armorer, Amy Sedaris as Peli Motto, and Katee Sackhoff as Bo-Katan Kryze, at the very least.

Cameras are currently rolling in Southern California, but no premiere date has been announced.
