Over 40 minutes of gameplay footage from LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga has been revealed today, showcasing key moments from Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope that we'll be able to relive in Minifigure form. There's tonnes to unpack here, including what looks like an improved combat system, plenty of space-set action, and a glimpse at missions set during the sequels.

The game looks undeniably impressive, and April 5 cannot get here soon enough at this stage.

"Adapting" all nine instalments of the iconic franchise, it was previously confirmed that there will initially be a total of 45 missions for gamers to embark on, along with 20 open-world environments.

There will be hundreds of vehicles and dozens of characters to take control of (a whole host of new heroes and villains were recently revealed as being part of upcoming DLC packs), and you can get a taste of those in the gameplay shared below. The LEGO video game franchise has definitely evolved if what's show here is any indication, and there's a lot of incredible footage in this leak.

"The galaxy is yours with LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga," reads the official synopsis for the game. "Play through all nine Star Wars saga films in a brand-new LEGO video game unlike any other. Experience fun-filled adventures, whimsical humor, and the freedom to fully immerse yourself in the LEGO Star Wars universe like never before."

Hopefully, it will have been worth the wait, and when the game is released, it will be available to purchase on Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and new consoles Xbox Series S|X and PS5.
