OBI-WAN KENOBI Concept Art Reveals More Prequel Era Jedi Who Were Ultimately CUT From The Series

Newly revealed Obi-Wan Kenobi concept art has revealed a couple of familiar prequel-era Jedi who both did and didn't appear in the Disney+ series. Take a closer look at both characters after the jump...

Obi-Wan Kenobi was set right between the events of Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope and showed us more of what this Galaxy Far, Far Away looked like at the height of the Empire's rule.

Along the way, we were taken to Fortress Inquisitorious, the home of Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader's Sith Inquisitors. Obi-Wan was forced to infiltrate the base to rescue Princess Leia and ended up discovering the bodies of many of his old Jedi allies frozen in an amber-like substance deep beneath the surface.

We still don't know what they're doing there and the show provided no additional clues as it continued. The prevailing theory online is that Palpatine either wants their Midi-chlorians for his cloning experiments or that these fallen Jedi somehow power the Inquisitors.

Now, ILM senior concept artist Kouji Tajima has shared some of his art from Obi-Wan Kenobi. We're sure you'll recognise Jedi Knight Pablo-Jill, a character who first appeared in Attack of the Clones and was among those fighting on Geonosis. He didn't end up appearing in the Disney+ series, though we're assuming he was meant to be among the bodies on display.

Of course, it's also possible that he was going to be killed by Anakin Skywalker during flashbacks to his attack on the Jedi Temple in Revenge of the Sith

We also see Jedi Master Tera Sinube, a character from The Clone Wars. He was entombed by Palpatine and Vader's followers, so there's no chance, unlike Pablo-Jill, we could see him again down the line.

Lucasfilm has done a great job of deepening the Star Wars franchise on Disney+, and we hope this won't be the last time we visit this era. Of course, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor will likely be the next story to show us what became of the remaining Jedi in the wake of Anakin becoming Darth Vader.
