Making Star Wars is reporting that Jimmy Smits is set to return to a Galaxy Far, Far Away in the Obi-Wan Kenobi series coming to Disney+ this May. The actor played Princess Leia's "father," Bail Organa, in Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
He's one of the few people to know what happened to Anakin Skywalker and played a key role in the formation of the Rebel Alliance before the Empire destroyed Alderaan.
It's unclear what role Organa will play in proceedings, but seeing as he knows about Luke and Leia Skywalker and is aware of where Obi-Wan and Yoda are hiding, Darth Vader's Sith Inquisitors are likely keen to speak with him. This likely confirms previous reports that a young Leia will appear in the series, and it's possible Kenobi and Organa will be reunited.
The site is unsure whether Rebecca Jackson Mendoza will reprise the role of Bail's wife and Alderaan's Queen, but the character will reportedly appear in Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Hopefully, taking us to the planet so casually destroyed by Grand Moff Tarkin in A New Hope will make that moment a little more impactful, all while expanding on what Leia's life was once like.
Obi-Wan Kenobi will premiere on Disney+ on May 25.
