OBI-WAN KENOBI Receives A Surprising Age Rating On Disney+ As A Couple Of New Stills Are Revealed

It's looking like Obi-Wan Kenobi will be a little more family-friendly than we anticipated because the Disney+ series just received a surprising rating in the UK. On that version of the platform, the latest Star Wars TV show is listed as 9+, lower than both The Mandalorian (14+) and The Book of Boba Fett (12+).

The teaser trailer suggested that Obi-Wan Kenobi would feature its fair share of violence, while there have been rumours of things taking a very dark turn on several occasions in the series.

Regardless, in the U.S., the show is a TV-14, the same as The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. Both countries have very different rating systems, of course, and 9+ still puts Obi-Wan Kenobi on part with WandaVision (the rest of those MCU shows are 12+, aside from Moon Knight which sits at 16+).

With this news comes a couple of new stills from the series featuring Joel Edgerton's return as Lars Skywalker and "Ben" Kenobi's isolation on Tatooine. They don't reveal much beyond that, but it appears the former Jedi Master is taking his self-imposed exile to watch over Luke extremely seriously.

Obi-Wan Kenobi stars Ewan McGregor, reprising his role as the iconic Jedi Master, and also marks the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Darth Vader. Joining the cast are Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. The series is directed by Deborah Chow and executive-produced by Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Joby Harold.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to premiere on Disney+ with its first two episodes on May 27.
