OBI-WAN KENOBI Rumor Points To The Series Introducing An Adorable Droid Sidekick For [SPOILER]

With less than one month left until Obi-Wan Kenobi premieres on Disney+, StarWarsNews.net has shared a fun new rumour about a droid companion to the young Princess Leia!

The series is expected to follow the Jedi Master returning to action in an effort to rescue the 10-year-old Leia, and her droid companion is supposed to be a bodyguard of sorts. Unfortunately, the flying frisbee shaped protector isn't too good at its job, hence why she's ultimately kidnapped.

The site explains, "We were told that this droid is like a drone. It’s adorable, like a little bug that hovers over her to protect her. This new character is intended to capture the audience as the next big cute Star Wars character, following recent ones like Grogu, Babu Frik, and D-O. It has a circular shape, almost like an old flying saucer, with white and red colors."

Apparently, this droid's appearance has been based on a character featured in 1987 movie Batteries Not Included which was produced by Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. That's a fun nod to her past, and we wouldn't be all surprised if this droid quickly comes a highly sought after toy.

There's still no sign of another trailer for Obi-Wan Kenobi, but you have to believe a new look at the series isn't too far off. This week, CinemaCon has been in full swing, and revealing fresh footage from the show could have seen it quickly become overshadowed by all the big news from that.

Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to premiere on Disney+ with its first two episodes on May 27.
