Wednesday's Obi-Wan Kenobi finale delivered 50 minutes or so of pure, perfect Star Wars, and fans of this Galaxy Far, Far Away are still buzzing. There was a lot to unpack in the episode, of course, including an epic lightsaber battle that saw Ben face off with Darth Vader one last time before their fateful final meeting in A New Hope.
That and quite a few other key scenes are highlighted in this new batch of stills from the limited series' final episode. These are actual photos taken on set rather than just hi-res screenshots, meaning we get to see certain characters and moments in a new light.
There are some terrific shots of Darth Vader and Reva, while Ewan McGregor's Obi-Wan understandably gets his fair share of the spotlight too (alongside the immensely talented Vivien Lyra Blair as the young Princess Leia). We're hoping Disney+ drops more stills early next week, hopefully showing more of those cameos and that epic duel.
In a recent GQ profile, Obi-Wan Kenobi director Deborah Chow praised what McGregor brought to the character in this show. "Obviously [Ewan] was a producer on Kenobi, he’s more than just an actor," she says. "But he’s lived with this character. Not only did he play it in the prequels, but he’s asked to live with the public persona of being Obi-Wan."
McGregor doesn't seem to feel that burden and is ready and willing to reprise the role as soon as he's asked. "I really hope we do another," the actor admits. "If I could do one of these every now and again - I’d just be happy about it."
