With The Book of Boba Fett now in the rearview, all eyes are turning to the next live-action Star Wars TV series, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Lucasfilm recently released a poster for the show, but in terms of plot details, we only really have rumours and speculation to go by!
Thanks to StarWarsNews.net, things are now a little clearer. As expected, it appears Obi-Wan will be forced to leave Tatooine - and Luke Skywalker - in order to rescue the young Princess Leia.
She'll be ten years old in Obi-Wan Kenobi, and the Jedi Master will be forced to return to action when she's held prisoner in a "Cantina-like establishment where we will see a healthy mixture of new and familiar creatures." Whether this will be the premise of the entire series remains to be seen, but it could be what puts the hero in the sights of Darth Vader and his Sith Inquisitors.
Very little has been revealed about Leia Organa's childhood, but an early meeting with Kenobi would certainly go some way in better explaining why she reached out to him at the start of A New Hope. There's already been chatter about us exploring Alderaan, and Bail Organa must be backed into a corner to bring Obi-Wan out of hiding after he retreated to Tatooine to keep an eye on the young Luke.
Obi-Wan Kenobi is set to premiere on Disney+ on May 25, Star Wars' 45th anniversary.
