Star Wars' animated offerings have often attracted big names from the movies, with Liam Neeson and Ian McDiarmid among those who have chosen to lend their voices to shows like The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.
Earlier this week, however, fans of The Bad Batch got a surprise when Ben Mendelsohn made his return as Director Orson Krennic. He's the Imperial who spearheaded Project Stardust (a.k.a. the construction of the Death Star), and we followed the villain's story in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, with Krennic's ambition eventually getting the best of him.
He was shown attending a summit helmed by Grand Moff Tarkin, someone we know he eventually clashes with when it came to his desire to receive praise for his work from the Emperor. In this exchange, Tarkin asks Krennic for an update on "Project Stardust," a fun Easter Egg that continues to build connectivity between these projects.
The Bad Batch has been exploring the Empire's shift from Clone Troopers to Stormtroopers, and we can't help but wonder when and where they'll appear in live-action. We do, however, anticipate seeing Captain Rex in Ahsoka later this year.
As for Krennic, we have to believe he'll be part of Andor season 2 as well.
In season 2, months have passed since the events on Kamino, and the Bad Batch continue their journey navigating the Empire after the fall of the Republic. They will cross paths with friends and foes, both new and familiar, as they take on a variety of thrilling mercenary missions that will take them to unexpected and dangerous new places.
