Industry insider Kurakasis claims a new Star Wars game will be revealed “very soon.” While no date was provided, the next major gaming event on the calendar is The Game Awards, taking place later this month, making it a likely venue for the announcement.
The Game Awards often doubles as a showcase for new projects and debut trailers, though Kurakasis offered no specifics about the mystery title. They clarified only that it is not connected to Star Wars: Zero Company or Star Wars Eclipse, two previously announced projects that remain in development.
One major candidate is Star Wars Jedi 3. EA hasn’t formally unveiled the game, but the publisher has confirmed that the third entry in the blockbuster series is in active development and considered a high-priority project. It’s expected to conclude Cal Kestis’s story.
While Star Wars Jedi games are typically revealed at Star Wars Celebration, Jedi: Survivor did receive its first major gameplay trailer at The Game Awards 2022. With the next Celebration not scheduled until 2027, EA may opt to reveal the game sooner rather than later.
Fans are also hoping for news on the long-dormant Knights of the Old Republic remake. Announced in 2021, the project was delayed indefinitely in 2022, shifting from Aspyr Media to Saber Interactive. Updates have been sparse, but Saber’s leadership has repeatedly stated the remake is still in development and remains a priority.
As for the two ruled out games, Star Wars: Zero Company is a turn-based tactics title from Bit Reactor. Described as XCOM-like, Zero Company is set in the twilight of the Clone Wars, and aiming for a gritty, boots-on-the-ground tone. It’s targeting a 2026 release.
Star Wars Eclipse, developed by Quantic Dream, is a narrative-driven action-adventure set in the High Republic era. First revealed at The Game Awards in 2021, it’s reportedly still early in development, with a possible 2027 or later launch window.
The Game Awards 2025 will be held on Thursday, December 11, at 8:00 p.m. ET at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, with a livestream available for fans at home.
With Zero Company and Eclipse off the table, the leading possibilities are the officially confirmed but not yet revealed Star Wars Jedi 3, the long-awaited KOTOR remake, or an entirely new, previously unannounced project.
