Star Wars: Skeleton Crew was announced during this year's Star Wars Celebration, though it appears cameras are already rolling on the upcoming Disney+ series.

According to a report from Bespin Bulletin, the Jude Law-led project actually began filming in late June at Manhattan Beach Studios in Manhattan Beach, California. That studio has been home to the likes of The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi, not to mention next year's Ahsoka, another series in the midst of shooting as we write this.

Additional filming is reportedly set to take place in Culver City and California State University, so fingers crossed we'll get some set photos (security is infuriatingly tight in Manhattan Beach).

Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts is executive producing Skeleton Crew alongside Christopher Ford. Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni will co-executive produce the show, no great surprise when this is yet another project that takes place in the years following Return of the Jedi

Very little has been revealed beyond Law's casting, though we know the story will follow a group of kids who get lost in this Galaxy Far, Far Away as they try to find their way home. It's definitely something different from this era of Star Wars, and one we're intrigued to see more from.

In the meantime, we have Andor coming to Disney+ on August 31 and The Mandalorian set to return next February. Ahsoka will also premiere in 2023, and we're assuming Skeleton Crew won't be too far behind. As of right now, though, it doesn't actually have a confirmed premiere date.
