The prequels fit into the established canon. With a very few bobbles, they served as good backstory.

The sequels were abysmal IMO. There were a ton of SW novels and such that had become accepted canon and were really really Good. The Yuuzhan Vong storyline alone could have spawned 6 movies at least.

The Force Awakens obliterated all of that, and the last two just buried the whole thing. It was unforgivable IMO. Completely ruined the franchise just to make money.

@knomad - Vong saga was trash by writers jerking themselves off to their pet characters while ignoring the other writers pet characters. It was a dead end of storytelling and they obviously had no creative juice left. Thank f*cking god they threw that in the trash.

No. 1 reason some will say this is true: It's what they grew up with. They grew up with the prequels and the Clone Wars cartoon so now we have to hear how great they are, how awesome Hayden Christensen actually is (he just acted the way that Lucas wanted him to!).

There's this new take, now that the prequel generation have become adults, that the prequels are actually great.

Give it another 10-15 years and the sequel generation will be telling you how great it actually is.

Hold your ground, people. Don't let history be rewritten!!

Just "10"?

They are eqally bad. The Prequels started with two terrible films and ended with a fairly good one, the sequels started off strong and steadily declined for the remainder of the series.

I agree wholeheartedly with this article! :)

When you come right down to it, George always had a plan for Star Wars, Disney however, did the complete opposite when The Force Awakens came out… granted, the Sequel Trilogy movies had one or two things I liked about them, but not enough to love them the way I do with episodes 1 - 6, Rogue One and Solo.

Now it goes without saying, I'm sure that one day we all will find something new to hate about Star Wars after episodes 7 - 9, but let's not hurry to get there.

For me, the Star Wars I know and love died when they made Rey a Mary Sue instead of a likeable character, belittled the role of Finn, when they made Luke a grumpy and suicidal old man as seen in Last Jedi, brought Palpatine back without a good explanation, and so on and so forth… And for that, I can NEVER EVER forgive them, as Luke Skywalker was my hero growing up.

Stopped reading after, “Rian Johnson expertly choreographed that battle aboard Snoke's Star Destroyer.”

This is a troll article, right? Expert choreograph? The fight that is infamous for its horrendous choreography, not just by sequel haters, but just objectively bad. The fight where the Red Solo Cup Troopers suddenly fall or die without anybody being near. CGI weapons that clip through characters, not as an attack, but because they forget to choreograph a blade being present. So much more; there are literally hundreds of videos, GIFs, memes, showing the sloppiness of that choreography.
