Ahsoka Season 1 ended with the emotional reunion between Star Wars Rebels standouts, Ezra Bridger and Hera Syndulla. The young Jedi arrived in a stolen ETA-Class shuttle disguised as one of Grand Admiral Thrawn's terrifying Night Troopers, but how did he escape the villain?

Marvel Comics is teaming with new Lucasfilm President and Ahsoka showrunner Dave Filoni for a comic book that bridges the gap between Ezra's departure from Peridea and his meeting with Hera in the Season 1 finale.

Filoni penned the story for the comic, titled Star Wars: Ahsoka — Escape from Thrawn, while Rodney Barnes (Marvel's Runaways) writes the series. Andrea Di Vito (Thor) provides the art, while Phil Noto (The Fantastic Four: First Steps) is on covers.

Here's the official description for Star Wars: Ahsoka — Escape from Thrawn #1:

Witness the unseen story of EZRA BRIDGER's daring flight from Peridea! Ezra narrowly escaped his exile beyond the known galaxy by stowing away aboard GRAND ADMIRAL THRAWN's flagship, but his fight to return home is far from over! Hunted across hyperspace with nowhere to hide, the rebel hero must now evade CAPTAIN ENOCH, counter the dark magick of the NIGHTSISTERS, and outwit the Empire's greatest strategist if he hopes to make it off the Chimaera alive. Based on a story by series creator Dave Filoni, this unseen chapter from Ahsoka is a thrilling companion to the upcoming second season of the hit Disney+ series!

It's an intriguing premise, and the first issue is set to launch alongside the TV series on January 20. Hopefully, it and the show itself will address the long list of unanswered questions that the first batch of episodes left Star Wars fans with.

Ahsoka Season 2 continues the story of Ahsoka Tano and her extraordinary journey beyond the known galaxy. As Ahsoka and her Jedi apprentice Sabine Wren travel across a mysterious and perilous world to find their way home, their friends Hera, Ezra, Zeb, and Chopper must face the powerful Grand Admiral Thrawn and his sinister allies, who seek to plunge the New Republic into war.

Ahsoka stars Rosario Dawson, Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Lars Mikkelsen, Eman Esfandi, Ivanna Sakhno, Rory McCann, and Hayden Christensen.

The directors are Dave Filoni, Jennifer Getzinger, Bryce Dallas Howard, and Anders Engström. The series is written by Dave Filoni, who also serves as an executive producer along with Jon Favreau and Carrie Beck. Karen Gilchrist is the co-executive producer, and John Bartnicki and Joan Schneider are the producers.

Ahsoka Season 2 premieres on January 20 on Disney+.
