The first season of Star Wars: Andor and the "complete series" of Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi are set to receive a physical release next month. Disney confirmed that Star Wars: Andor - The Complete First Season and Star Wars: Obi-Wan - The Complete Series will be released on 4K UHD and Blu-ray on April 30, 2024.

Both will be released as Collector's Editions featuring a Steelbook with brand new box art designed by artist Attila Szarka and collectible concept art cards. Additionally, each release will include multiple bonus featurettes that provide fans with behind-the-scenes commentary from the directors, actors and more.

Andor: The Complete First Season 4K UHD and Blu-ray Details

A prequel to 2016's spin-off film Rogue One, which is in turn a prequel to the original Star Wars movie, Andor follows thief-turned-rebel spy Cassion Andor during the five years that lead to the events of the first two movies.

Explore a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It’s an era filled with danger, deception, and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

The physical release will include five different featurettes, from discussions featuring the cast and crew to additional backstories of ISB agent Dedra and more to VFX breakdowns.

BONUS FEATURES

Featurettes:

  • Ferrix Pt 1: Imperial Occupation - Tony Gilroy, Kathleen Kennedy and Diego Luna discuss the series’ origins.
  • Aldhani: Rebel Heist - Join the shoot in Scotland with character spotlights, rebel training, stunts, a VFX breakdown and more.
  • Coruscant: Whispers of Rebellion - Explore the stories of ISB agent Dedra, Senator Mon Mothma and spymaster Luthen Rael.
  • Narkina 5: One Way Out - Uncover the Empire’s penal system and the prison’s stark look, get to know Kino Loy, and view VFX breakdowns.
  • Ferrix Pt 2: Fight the Empire - Tony Gilroy, Diego Luna, cast and crew reveal the making of the season finale.

Obi-Wan Kenobi: The Complete Series 4K UHD and Blu-ray Details

Another prequel series, Obi-Wan Kenobi follows the titular Jedi. Set 10 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, the series features the return of Ewan McGregor as the beloved Kenobi, who sets out to rescue the kidnapped Princess Leia form the Galactic Empire.

Obi-Wan Kenobi begins 10 years after the dramatic events of Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

The Collector's Edition will come with four featurettes, including one in which director Deborah Chow and actors Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen examine the lightsaber battles between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader.

BONUS FEATURES

Featurettes:

  • Duels of Fate: Obi-Wan vs Vader - Deborah Chow, Ewan McGregor and Hayden Christensen examine the lightsaber battles of Obi-Wan and Darth Vader.
  • The Dark Times: Villains - Uncover the lore of the deadly Inquisitors, and Darth Vader’s iconic look.
  • Designing The Galaxy - Say hello to Leia’s loveable sidekick, Lola, then explore the new planets of the Star Wars galaxy.
  • Director’s Commentary - Join director Deborah Chow for an exclusive audio commentary on the action-packed finale.

Although Obi-Wan Kenobi originated as a planned film, it was reworked as a limited series following the box office disappointment of Solo: A Star Wars Story. The positive reception of Obi-Wan Kenobi led to some hope we'd be getting a second season, but the fact that Disney is referring to this as "The Complete Series" seems to suggest we won't get a follow-up season.
