We recently told you about plans for Ahsoka to take its title character back to the World Between Worlds. A relatively new concept, Star Wars Rebels established it as a mystical plane within the Force that served as a collection of doors and pathways existing between time and space, linking all moments in time together.
That sounds an awful lot like the Multiverse, right?
In Ahsoka, we're reportedly going to see an alternate timeline where it was Ahsoka Tano who faced Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader on Mustafar in place of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
Now, Giant Freakin Robot claims we'll also catch a glimpse of a reality where Ahsoka decided to serve Vader after giving in to the Dark Side. This lines up with much of what we've been hearing about the Disney+ series, but the site has another supposed scoop.
We'd advise taking this with a pinch of salt given their track record, but the site believes Lucasfilm is planning a What If...?-style TV series which will explore the Star Wars franchise's alternate timelines.
While Marvel Studios has obviously beaten them to the punch with this concept, the Galaxy Far, Far Away is perfectly suited to a show like this. What If Anakin had never become Darth Vader? What if Princess Leia was a Jedi in place of Luke Skywalker? Those are just a couple of questions which barely scratch the surface of what a spin-off like this could do.
It's unclear whether this would be a live-action or animated project, though the latter seems more likely. Episodes similar to Tales of the Jedi could explore the World Between Worlds and we'd guess Dave Filoni will be heavily involved...if it happens.
However, we've been hearing similar rumblings so fingers crossed the project doesn't get lost amid the strikes and Disney CEO Bob Iger's plans to scale back on the number of Star Wars TV shows on Disney+!
