At Star Wars Celebration, Lucasfilm officially expanded the franchise's timeline, adding "Dawn of the Jedi," "The New Republic," and "New Jedi Order" to this Galaxy Far, Far Away.

We're now getting three movies set during those periods, with James Mangold set to tell the story of the first-ever Jedi Knight. Dave Filoni, meanwhile, will bring together all the Disney+ TV shows for a movie event, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is developing a Daisy Ridley-led Rey feature. Picking up 15 years after the events of The Rise of Skywalker, the latter will follow her attempts to rebuild the Jedi Order and the forces that rise to combat her.

Very little has been revealed about the latter project beyond that, though we know Damon Lindelof's scrapped version would have taken place another 45 years later than that, with an elderly Rey training two new recruits.

Talking to Empire Online, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy shed new light on where all these stories will take us.

"What we’re exploring is the evolution of the Jedi," Kennedy teases. "We’re going very far back, we’re looking at the present, and now we’re moving 15 years after The Rise Of Skywalker."

"The First Order has fallen, the Jedi are in chaos – there’s even a question of how many exist anymore – and Rey’s building the New Jedi Order," she continues, "based on the text that she was given and that Luke imparted on her."

15 years is a long time, and the fact the Jedi Order remains in disarray is definitely interesting. Ahsoka Tano, Ezra Bridger, and Cal Kestis are presumably no more at this stage, so without anyone to train or help guide her, it's possible Rey's attempts to rebuild have been more challenging than expected.

None of these planned Star Wars movies has a confirmed release date, though the one revolving around Rey is expected to hit theaters in 2025.
