Lucasfilm Games and Skydance New Media have announced that they're collaborating on a narrative-driven, action-adventure game featuring an original story set in the Star Wars galaxy.

However, the most exciting part of this news is the fact that award-winning writer and director Amy Henning, a game-industry legend whose credits include the blockbuster series like Legacy of Kain, Jak and Daxter, and Uncharted, will be overseeing the project as Skydance New Media's head.

"I've often described how seeing Star Wars in 1977 essentially rewired my 12-year-old brain, shaping my creative life and future indelibly," Hennig said in a statement to StarWars.com. "I’m elated to be working with Lucasfilm Games again to tell interactive stories in this galaxy that I love."

"We couldn’t be more thrilled to be working again with Amy. She and the Skydance New Media team have the talent and ambition to create a unique Star Wars adventure," added Lucafilm Games' Douglas Reilly. "Their vision for making narrative-driven and engaging interactive entertainment makes this collaboration very exciting. We’re working hard with their team of experienced and talented developers, and we’re looking forward to sharing more with fans when the time is right."

Skydance New Media was formed in 2019, and they've previously announced a partnership with Marvel Entertainment to craft an all-new game with an original story (which is similarly exciting).

No story, character, or setting details have been revealed about this Star Wars game, but we're hopeful additional details might be shared during Star Wars Celebration next month. It's clearly early days for the project, though, so don't be surprised if we're waiting a couple of years before we learn more.
