STAR WARS: Lucasfilm Expected To Announce Major Big-Screen Plans During Star Wars Celebration In April

It's been a while since we had any solid updates on Lucasfilm's plans for the Galaxy Far, Far Away on the big screen, but major announcements are expected at Star Wars Celebration this April!

The final film in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, 2019's The Rise of Skywalker, received negative reviews and was generally viewed as a disappointing conclusion to the Skywalker saga. It also failed to make as much of an impact on the box office as its predecessors.

As a result, Disney/Lucasfilm shifted focus to streaming and explored a different corner of the Galaxy Far, Far Away in the likes of The Mandalorian, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor (with more on the way).

The shows have been a huge success (for the most part), but fans have been wondering when they can expect to see Star Wars back on the big screen.

Now, we finally have an update thanks to a new report from THR.

According to the trade, Disney has "ramped up its efforts" to bring the franchise back to theaters, and is expected to unveil film plans at Star Wars Celebration London this April.

We know movies from Damon Lindelof and Taika Waititi are currently being developed, so we'll most likely find out more about those projects, but we wouldn't be surprised if an entire slate (or at least a handful of films) are announced. Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins' shelved Rogue Squadron movie "may never materialize," however.

What announcements are you guys hoping for from Star Wars Celebration? Be sure to share your thoughts and predictions down below.
