STAR WARS: Mark Hamill Takes Shot At Sequel Trilogy After Not Getting To Share Screen With Harrison Ford

Mark Hamill has jokingly looked back at his time working on the Star Wars sequels, pointing out that he'd still like to get the opportunity to share the screen with Harrison Ford's Han Solo as Luke Skywalker.

Mark Hamill didn't return in Star Wars: The Force Awakens until the movie's closing moments. Seeing as Han Solo had been killed by Kylo Ren by that point, it was clear the iconic smuggler wouldn't be sharing the screen with Luke Skywalker again. That felt like a major missed opportunity, but we still had The Last Jedi to look forward to at that point. Right?

Unfortunately, the portrayal of Luke in that movie didn't sit at all well with fans. The Jedi had become demoralised and broken down, going into hiding after he very nearly gave into temptation and killed Ben Solo before he could turn to the Dark Side.

That ended up happening, anyway, and Luke being portrayed as a broken-down failure felt like the wrong decision for the character. Now, Mark Hamill has poked fun at the Star Wars sequels with a tongue-in-cheek shot at something a lot of fans were disappointed by.

Sharing a post that was meant to make fun of President Joe Biden, the legendary actor cheekily commented, "Maybe in this one they'll let me have a scene with Harrison."

Hamill has talked openly about being disappointed with Luke's portrayal in The Last Jedi admitting that he told director Rian Johnson, "'I hate what you’ve done with my character.' After I got that off my chest, it was like, 'Lead me, o guru.'"

The actor has since said very little about the Star Wars sequels, likely realising it's best not to add any further fuel to the fire. The Rise of Skywalker gave him a shot at redemption, though most fans rejected that movie due to it being mostly awful. However, he's got to play Luke at the height of his power in both The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett

Regardless, we may never be able to forgive Lucasfilm for not reuniting Luke, Han, and Leia when they had the chance...
