Following yesterday’s trailer for Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord, Lucasfilm and Disney have revealed the full episode lineup and release schedule for the highly anticipated animated series.

The 10-episode series will take a serialized approach, unfolding over five weeks. It kicks off with a two-episode premiere on Disney+ on April 6. New episodes will drop every Monday, with two installments per week, culminating in the finale on May 4, "Star Wars Day."

“This show is highly serialized, very connected all the way through,” said Executive Producer and Supervising Director Brad Rau earlier this week.

“And it’s a super fast-paced series,” added Executive Producer Matt Michnovetz. “We wanted to create an action-packed thrill ride, something that had the rush of a roller coaster. We do a lot of homages to the classic serials that inspired George Lucas, and Maul is the perfect character to drive this story forward.”

Created by Dave Filoni, the highly anticipated animated series Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord dives into the twisted psyche of one of the galaxy's most infamous former Sith Lords. Set in the early years of the Imperial Era, shortly after the Clone Wars and Order 66, Maul relentlessly pursues revenge while working to rebuild his criminal syndicate on Zanbar, a shadowy planet yet untouched by the Empire's grasp.

"Set after the events of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this pulpy adventure finds Maul plotting to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a planet untouched by the Empire," the synopsis reads. "There, he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who could be the apprentice he is seeking to aid him in his relentless pursuit for revenge."

Sam Witwer (Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) returns to voice Maul, leading a talented cast that includes Gideon Adlon as the disillusioned young Jedi Padawan Devon Izara, Golden Globe winner and Oscar nominee Wagner Moura as detective Brander Lawson, and Richard Ayoade as his droid partner Two-Boots.

Star Wars: Maul - Shadow Lord will be the first major Star Wars project to release following Dave Filoni’s promotion to President of Lucasfilm after Kathleen Kennedy stepped down. However, it isn’t necessarily the first project he’s overseen, as he was already creatively involved in other ongoing projects and continues to lead several others.
